Salesian Athletics Success

Our Athletics Season got underway with 46 of pupils making the long trip to the Woking Sportsbox in London, for the annual Salesian Athletics Championships.

Pupils competed with full commitment - both boys and girls teams finished in 4th place overall whilst, bringing home 3 gold medals, 9 silver medals and 19 bronze medals in total!

Congratulations to everyone who competed and we now look forward to our local Athletics Championships at Litherland Sports Park and Wavertree.

Huge congratulations to everyone involved!

Our boys Athletics squad were then crowned Bootle Schools Champions at Litherland Sports Park, whilst our girls squad finished in 2nd place overall.

We had multiple winners across a whole range of events at the Championships with our 4 x 100m relay teams particularly excelling by winning four of the six races.

This was the first time in over 25 years that the school has won this event and our Year 9 Team Captain Ruben proudly lifted the trophy which dates back to the early 1930's!

Huge congratulations go out to everyone who represented the school and played their part in creating a little piece of history!
