A Seafood Adventure with 'Fish in School Hero' Programme

Last week, we were fortunate to receive a generous donation of FREE mussels from Offshore Shellfish. These mussels were expertly packed by River Teign Shellfish Ltd and delivered by DFDS Global.

The excitement didn't stop there, our Year 10 and 11 pupils had a fantastic time preparing and savouring delicious Thai-style mussels. Even some teachers couldn't resist a taste! This hands-on experience was not only a culinary delight but also a brilliant learning opportunity for our pupils. Using seafood sourced locally, they explored lessons about health, cooking, and sustainability.

This was a wonderful way to combine culinary skills with valuable lessons about our environment and food choices, all part of the ‘Fish in School Hero’ programme aiming to ensure that every child gets a chance to prepare, cook, and enjoy fish before leaving school.
